A strategy is being strengthened in the municipality of Manatí to avoid traffic accidents

A strategy is being strengthened in the municipality of Manatí to avoid traffic accidents as a result of livestock loose on the roads, a fact that has conspired against the lives of several people, especially at night and associated with the circulation of animal-drawn vehicles.

Manatí, Las Tunas.- Tania Rodríguez Mederos, the coordinator of tasks and programs that attends Road Safety in the territory, pointed out that very serious measures will be taken in relation to losing cattle on the roads, disrespect for traffic laws, both pedestrian and drivers, and the circulation of vehicles at night without the due guarantees.

The specialist on the subject recognized that among the main problems that the municipality has is the state of deterioration of the main arteries, which also influences the accident rate and reiterated the need to rescue a constructive maintenance brigade in Manatí for the repair of streets.

Currently, Road Safety is in charge of the technical review of the automotive means of the natural and legal sectors in the territory, ensuring road discipline and strengthening knowledge on road culture in schools so that pedestrians and drivers develop skills and create knowledge about citizen safety.

To deal with violations and avoid prejudice, specialists hold a multi-sectoral road safety meeting on Manatí once a month, based on three important ideas: the systematic control of the commission that will begin to show results from this month, the idea of thinking as a municipality based on community priorities, and the need to work with a vision of quality and durability so that social works last over time.
