the retail prices of gastronomic and agricultural products were modified in favor of the popular demands.

After knowing the population's concerns about the new prices approved, about 3,500 control actions were carried out in Las Tunas last January, which has been decisive for a turnaround in the anomalies detected.

Las Tunas, Cuba - The prices established on the first day of this year led to multiple non-conformities that were answered by the Government at the level of the municipalities and the province, through a meeting with entities that supply raw materials such as the companies of Meat, Collection, Dairy, Commerce, and Fishing.

Fidel Gordo, who is in charge of the economy in the government structure in the province, explained to the Cuban News Agency that after a collegiate analysis, as of January 11, the retail prices of gastronomic and agricultural products were modified in favor of the popular demands.

To be fair -added the executive- we talked with all those involved until reaching a consensus, which does not mean that everything has been solved since we are still analyzing this issue corresponding to the Ordering Task.

In these actions carried out in the eight municipalities, 3,260 violations were detected in the state and self-employed sectors, from which about 3,300 measures were derived, among them 3,235 fines, 23 decrees, and 27 seizures, Gordo said.

The main violations were related to the sale of agricultural and industrial products, pork, and flour derivatives.

The leader said that the regulation work continues, for which commissions were created by representatives of the Communist Party of Cuba, the mass organizations, and the Government, who visit each municipality and exchange with the population and those involved in the sale of products.

"A change is evident, I knew that many things had to be rectified, it is not the same to buy a pound of tomato at 9.00 pesos than at 20.00, as it was before, said Romárica Ayala, a resident of the Primero neighborhood in this city, who also referred to favorable price changes for the population in ice cream, hamburger, coffee, and soft drinks.

However, for retiree Abel Castañeda "it is necessary that more inspections are made and in all places, because in the neighborhoods sellers in points and carts continue to violate prices and nothing happens."
