Youth brigades of social work in Las Tunas neighborhoods

A new community social work's youth brigade was constituted in the 13th district of the city of Las Tunas on Saturday. This is the eighth group of this type formed in the provincial capital to attend to the most urgent needs of vulnerable families in their respective health areas.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In the also known as Memories Plaza, the young people who will be in charge of supporting high-impact work in this neighborhood gathered. Right now, they will help in the organizational workings of the mass vaccination with “Abdala” for residents over 19 years of age, Laura Reyes Rivera, one of its members commented. "We are committed to making the dreams of those who gave their lives come true to have a more just, free, and anti-imperialist society," she also said.

The initiative, promoted by the Young Communists League (UJC), strives to increase the social participation of young people in the dynamics of their communities.

Yanisbel Garcia Ramírez, first secretary of the youth organization in this capital city, assured that similar actions will continue in the coming weeks, motivated by the International Youth Day (August 12) and the 95th anniversary of the birth of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, to be commemorated on August 13.
