High-quality salt has been obtained this year

Moments of joy today are being experienced by the group of the Las Tunas Salt Industry, based in Puerto Padre, upon fulfilling the extraction plan for the year, 58,300 tons destined for the production of chlorine in the electrochemical plant of Sagua.

Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.- After days of up to 18 hours of service, and in which the workers relied on innovation to solve equipment breakages, they obtained a high-quality salt compared to other campaigns, engineer Yonny Oller Ramírez, the Director, said.

The 252 salt miners continue the extraction to contribute another six thousand tons to the National Company before the end of the year, a possible purpose by having raw material and guaranteeing the daily maintenance of the machinery used in the production process, the technician Osmany Peña Rodríguez, head of the extraction group, added.

These constant repair actions in the face of the shortage of spare parts for the salt collection equipment, allow the group to also have salt on the plateau to guarantee the production of the first half of 2022.

From now on, this collective will focus on obtaining benefited salt for social consumption, a commitment that will provide added value and higher income to the entity.

Oller Ramírez recognized the efforts of the workers and their families to carry out such an important task in the midst of the complex epidemiological situation the country is experiencing.
