Tribute to the founders of the organs of the People's Power

With a tribute to the founders of the organs of the People's Power, held at the headquarters of the Provincial Government, the celebration for the 45th anniversary of this structure began in Las Tunas, which marked the institutionalization of the Cuban revolutionary process.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In the initial evening, José Serrano Brito was distinguished, who was one of those who paved the way for the new institutionalism in the Balcón de Oriente (Balcony of Eastern Cuba). He received, from the hands of governor Jaime Chiang Vega, recognition for his dedication and consecration in this time of service.

In Las Tunas, as in the rest of the country, the celebration for the anniversary is held under the slogan "45 years: from the people and for the people", and does not neglect to continue promoting citizen participation in each process of socialist democracy.

The celebration activities will also evoke the milestones in the evolution of the work of the organs of the People's Power. Some events will be particularly remembered: October 10, 1976, the first elections of delegates to the municipal assemblies of the People's Power; the 31st, its constitution; on November 7, the birth of the then provincial assemblies; and December 2, the establishment of the first legislature of the National Assembly of the People's Power.
