Conceiving a life is a mixture of magic and commitment. The Assisted Reproduction Program in Las Tunas is well aware of these practices. During 2023, 331 pregnancies were achieved with such mediation, involving all the personnel who work to guarantee the continuity of life.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- To this end, 546 new cases were attended to in the previous calendar, as part of the interest in increasing fertility in the face of the gradual decrease in the birth rate in the country. On Tunisian soil, the effectiveness of assisted pregnancies was above 50 percent, a result above the national average.

According to the summary of the achievements of the health system in this territory, the province overall contributed 328 births, including six twins, without genetic alterations, as a result of the link between the provincial services of Genetics and Assisted Reproduction.

During this period, the Assisted Reproduction Law was also implemented, including six homoaffective couples, who were able to receive medical care in the system, and the bases and interrelation with the legal and notary system of the territory were established.

The Assisted Reproduction Program also includes comprehensive services at the level of the health areas of the eight municipalities and constitutes a vital stimulus for those who want to conceive and have not been able to conceive for different reasons.
Free access to these procedures, regulated by a national program, is part of the measures to stimulate fertility in the municipal clinics established in Cuba.

Specifically, the Assisted Reproduction Clinic in Las Tunas also warns of the need for the Tunisian family to exercise its responsibility and prepare young people to have sexual relations safely and at the right time; an essential premise not only to care for their fertility but also to guarantee their sexual and reproductive rights, an issue that in practice is currently being debated on uncertain terrain.
