Blood donor Aurora García Bringas

Aurora García Bringas has been a voluntary blood donor since 2010 when she began her Medicine career at the University of Medical Sciences of Las Tunas. The Young Communist League (UJC) called for such a humanitarian gesture, and she did not hesitate for a second and extended her arm because she precisely chose to save lives as a profession and it was time to demonstrate her caring vocation.

"Amancio", Las Tunas.- This charismatic girl, with a fluent conversation, stopped for a few minutes her work at the Medical Office of the Jardín district, where she works as a family doctor, to talk about this issue, which for her is an act of love.

"In any country in the world, blood costs; in Cuba, we do it voluntarily. A donation is appreciated; we do not know who it comes from or to whom we give it, but we feel good doing something helpful for others."

In 2019, she felt the need for a donation firsthand when she was in a very serious condition while giving birth to her baby, and the blood bag was there. Someone like her did not hesitate to offer a little hope and well-being.

She has made 18 donations for 11 years since the first time. And she will continue to extend her solidarity arm whenever necessary, and health permits. Aurora is a doctor and like no one else knows the value of blood in saving a life, so she donates every time it is her turn no matter who it will be for.
