The Foreign Minister of India, Subrahmanyan Jaishankar stated that geopolitics and strategic convergence will always keep ties between India and Russia on a positive trajectory.

New Delhi.- Jaishankar thus assessed the future course of ties between both nations during a meeting in Moscow, according to the Indian Foreign Minister's statement on social networks.

The diplomat described the exchange, with those he considers to be the main representatives of the strategic community in Russia, as open and forward-looking, and explained that the exchange was related to the importance of rebalancing and the emergence of multipolarity and the paths for the development of bilateral ties.

Participants discussed related issues to connectivity, multilateralism, great power competition, and regional conflicts.

The Indian Foreign Minister began a visit to Russia on Monday as part of the ongoing high-level exchanges between the two countries.

His agenda in Russia includes meetings with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov to discuss issues related to economic engagement and with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, on bilateral, multilateral, and international items.

He will also comply with other commitments in Moscow and the city of Saint Petersburg, linked to strong cultural and people-to-people ties. (PL)
