All cruises to Labadee private beach has been canceled.

The global security team of the Royal Caribbean International company considered it appropriate to cancel cruise activities in Haiti, where gangs are the protagonists of violent acts.

Port-Au-Prince.- “Royal Caribbean International has canceled all cruises to Labadee, a private beach in northern Haiti, until further notice,” the shipping company said in a statement.

Customers who had booked cruises with scheduled calls in Labadee next week can now switch to the option of getting off at another port or spending more days at sea.

Earlier this week, Royal Caribbean International canceled shore excursions, but it had maintained visits to Labadee, including jet skiing, kayaking, and fishing excursions, Le Nouvelliste newspaper recalled.

The cruise ship Symphony of the Seas replaced the March 17 Labadee recreation with a day at sea, and Adventure of the Seas swapped the trip to the aforementioned private beach for a visit to Turks and Caicos. (PL)
