Caracas.- All of them will be trained in state-run higher education centers as part of the International Students Program, coordinated by the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Foundation (Fundayacucho) and the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs.

The Foreign Ministry pointed out that the new arrivals will take university courses in Integral Community Medicine, Administration, Agroecology, Architecture, Sports Sciences, Social Communication, Economics, Electricity, Engineering, and International Relations, among others.

A total of 156 students from 10 African countries are expected to arrive in Venezuela in the course of this month to study different specialties.

The International Students Program is promoted by the Ministry of People’s Power for University Education, through Fundayacucho, and the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Trade of the Peoples, which began in 2006.

The source specified that the entry of young people from Africa to the initiative began in 2009 with the incorporation of students from African countries, including Angola, Benin, Cape Verde, Ethiopia, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Libya, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, and Nigeria.

In addition to the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Gambia, Ghana, Sao Tome and Principe, and Seychelles. (PL)
