Sale of toiletries is underway

The measures announced by Betsy Díaz Velázquez, head of the Ministry of Domestic Trade (Mincin by its Spanish acronyms), on the sale of some products released and not subsidized through the regular card of basic supplies and the network of regular stores, is already materialized in Las Tunas with the distribution of toiletries.

Las Tunas, Cuba - Rolando Rodríguez Rojas, director of the Business Group of Commerce in the province, told 26Digital that the process began in the municipality of Puerto Padre and is expected to reach each family by April 20.

"At the moment we have the necessary bath soap to cover the entire population", said the director. We still have to receive part of the washing soap, which will arrive in the next few days. The sale of both is planned to take place monthly.

"With respect to the toothpaste and liquid detergent, the distribution will be in the quarter, since the existing raw material is quite limited. In the territory, we have a portion of toothpaste and we will start to take it to the regular stores, but we need the population to understand that the expected quantities will be sold, according to the number of consumers per family, taking into account the time needed for it to reach all families.

"Next week we will start offering a pound of chicken per capita at 20.00 pesos, in the same way, its distribution will be through the regular card of basic supplies and in correspondence with the arrival here of this merchandise".

Rodriguez Rojas explained that since the beginning of the week, the 19 products of the basic basket of the month of April began to be commercialized in the eight tuner municipalities, this time with 10 additional ounces of peas per consumer.

In the case of the sale of chlorine, the executive argued that to date 56,380 families have been covered, but the disinfectant is available to cover the rest. In the Balcony of Eastern Cuba, 52 points of sales are able for this activity and are expected to increase, as the levels of supply do it.
