With just over a week to go before the start of the school year, Las Tunas' School Transportation Unit (UEB) is finalizing details for the transfer of students and workers of different educational levels in the eight municipalities of Las Tunas.
Las Tunas, Cuba - Fernando Fernández Martínez, director of the unit in the province, said that so far about twenty buses are in optimal condition, which guarantees transportation in 27 of the 31 educational centers that are commissioned by the UEB in the geography of Las Tunas.
The schools Carlos Leyva González Sports Initiation (EIDE) and El Cucalambé Art Professional (EPA), as well as two educational institutions in the southern territory of "Colombia" will not have the provision of these services, but their transfer will be the responsibility of the Provincial Passenger and General Cargo Transportation Company (CARDINAL).
The period that is about to begin will have better coverage and organization than in previous years, since we have agreed on the movement of personnel in such a way that large enrollments do not coincide, such as the Rita Longa Pedagogical School, divided into two groups, alternating with departures on Fridays and Saturdays.
We are also expecting the arrival of new spare parts that are already in the capital of the country, including batteries and tires, which will allow us to recover another ten vehicles and thus complete one hundred percent of the demand in the first weeks of September, said Fernández Martínez.
The relocation of the employees and teachers of the sector will be carried out daily while the students will do so according to the characteristics of their place of residence and study, under the plans established by the UEB in prior coordination with the Ministry of Education.
During the summer season, School Transportation maintained the movement of travelers to the sun and beach destinations of the Popular Camping Company, as well as the transfer of patients suffering from renal insufficiency to the consultations; commissions that are not obstacles for the repair and maintenance of its fleet with a view to the teaching calendar.
