Achieving a conscious dialogue between community, school, family and public health, becomes into the welfare of the entire population, including the youngest. It is a priority in Las Tunas during the seventh edition of the Responsible Parenthood Days, which runs until next June.

The strategy is based on conceiving a proposal to obtain more inclusive results, an effort that in Las Tunas has not been consolidated, given the high rates of teenage pregnancy that exist in the territory, identified as the second in incidence at the national level.

Elia Marina Brito Hidalgo, a specialist from the Provincial Department of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, told the Cuban News Agency that training workshops will be held for health professionals and the various courses of study, as a guarantee of sex education for children, adolescents and young people.

In addition, a factor such as the home cannot be ignored -she added-, that is why educational intervention workshops have been designed to be given in family schools, aimed at encouraging the search for information to educate on the exercise of maternity and paternity that implies equal rights and responsibilities for both people.

Brito Hidalgo pointed out that the strategy of community intervention in health will also be geared towards this objective, with emphasis on sex education work from primary care in doctors' offices, maternal homes, and in conjunction with the Cuban Women Federation.

Under the slogan "Educating on healthy limits", the Responsible Parenthood Days will continue until June. This is an opportunity not only to focus on this issue but also to examine in greater depth the prevention of early pregnancy and drug use.

Every two years the National Center for Sex Education promotes this initiative, in order to address the processes of motherhood and fatherhood from the shared responsibility of attention to the full and safe development of children, in line with the construction of a socialist, prosperous and sustainable society.
