Las Tunas elected a new first secretary of the Young Communist League

The Provincial Committee of the Young Communist League (UJC) in Las Tunas, in an extraordinary plenary session, approved the release from his position of its first secretary Yasmani Rodríguez La Rosa.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Rodríguez La Rosa, a primary school teacher, who led the organization in this eastern province since June 2021, will assume new responsibilities in the National Committee.

The mission of leading the UJC in the territory will now fall on Milena Pérez Correoso, a graduate in Social Sciences, in charge -until now- of the sphere of Young Workers and Combatants.

Pérez Correoso, 32, headed the organization in Majibacoa and Las Tunas and has an extensive record as a youth leader.

The members of the Provincial Bureau of the Young Communist League, after approving both cadre movements, highlighted the values and work spirit of both, Yasmani and Milena.

Aylín Álvarez García, the first secretary of the UJC National Committee, highlighted the organization's work in the province, especially, its leadership. She pointed out that this movement of cadres also responds to a strategy to strengthen the youth political vanguard in Cuba.
