Representatives of the municipalities presented initiatives seek ingto promote their potential

At the 3rd Las Tunas Industry and Commerce Fair, representatives of the municipalities presented initiatives that seek to promote the potential of each and, in that effort, they highlighted proposals focused on tourism advancement and agro-industrial production.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- On behalf of the “Jesús Menéndez” Local Development Project, specifically regarding the rental houses on La Herradura beach, Jennifer Reyes explained that the main objective is to link them with local businesses and the state sector, to develop sustainable and ecological tourism. In the area, they have 27 homes of this type and around eight private restaurants immersed in these plans.

Reyes stressed that her participation in the fair has been an opportunity to publicize the work being done in the community and motivate others to work for the benefit of tourism and the growth of the province. The letters of intent signed with state companies confirm this.

On the other hand, Alexander Saldívar, administrator of the Ovicap Local Development Project, from the same municipality, presented several products derived from goat milk. This initiative, which was born in 2022 and begins in 2023 with the construction of mini-industries, seeks to attract potential investors.

Saldívar highlighted that he receives financing from the Country Project and foreign sources, with an investment of more than 300 thousand dollars to acquire machinery, technology, and tools. In addition, he established a contractual association with the University and the Territorial Development Center of the municipality.

Likewise, Elaine Lorenzo, a Programs and Projects specialist in the Majibacoa Culture Directorate, has now promoted the local development of her municipality. “We have seen a positive evolution since the first edition of this commercial event, with growth in craftsmanship and links with new economic actors, both state and non-state.”

In this range, products such as charcoal from the La Fe factory and Vascal furniture stand out, added to the support of having a unique wax plant in the country, typical of the Majibacoa agro-industrial sugar company. Besides, five local development micro projects financed by international collaboration were presented, which enhance the empowerment of women, the care and protection of the environment, and contribute to the nutrition of the Majibacoa people.
