New technologies offers advantages for the services of the Popular Savings Bank

More than 5,700 cards in freely convertible currency, were issued to date by the Popular Savings Bank (BPA by its Spanish acronyms) in Las Tunas, in support of the plan of economic and social measures approved by the Council of Ministers, in order to raise more income for the national economy.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- So far, at branch 6402, located in the city center, some 1,300 cards of this type associated with accounts denominated in US dollars have been created, declared Leonardo González González, director of that financial unit.

He explained that this device has the particularity that it is issued with a non-printed PIN, so that the customer, as a security measure, must then go through the ATM to activate his card; otherwise, the card will not be suitable for use in the shops enabled for this purpose, he explained.

The growing use of new technologies offers advantages for the services of the Popular Savings Bank, as is the case with Transfermóvil, a leading mobile application for electronic commerce in the country.

"This latest version includes, in addition to the almost complete change of the user interface, the possibility of renewing the magnetic card due to loss or misplacement without going to the bank branch, changing the limits of card operations, opening and closing fixed-term deposits, online payment of the Nauta Hogar and Youth Club welfares, among other benefits," he said.

Leonardo González González, director of branch 6402, said that in the interest of contributing to the country's economy, BPA also provides financing to production entities, both for the domestic and foreign markets. Such is the case of the Flora and Fauna Company, to which they granted a credit for the development of charcoal as a line item for sales abroad.

They also offer economic sponsorship to agricultural and small livestock producers, pig, poultry and rabbit farmers, with the aim of promoting progress and sustainability of food production and the economy.
