METUNAS is leader in Cuba in the manufacture of modular prefabricated and cold-formed metal structures.

Its extensive and necessary participation in the facilities that are built in the Mariel Special Development Zone, confirms that the Comandante Francisco (Paco) Cabrera metal structures company (METUNAS), from Las Tunas, confirms that it is vital for the economic and social growth of Cuba.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- This plant has great participation in Mariel through its structures to erect the disposable diaper factory, the food processing center, the warehouse base for logistics assurance, the coffee roaster, the intermodal terminal, and the railway repair ship.

The entity's deputy director, Albert Joseph Bisset, explained to the Cuban News Agency that it has simultaneously guaranteed other commissions for tourism facilities, as well as works for the development of tobacco, and poultry and pig farming.

Despite the resurgence of the blockade, the manager said, METUNAS has maintained its foray into supplying support for the manufacture of Diana buses, and together with the Electric Union, it already has the prototype to start the manufacture of high-voltage poles.

Joseph Bisset explained that they have ready the machinery for the manufacture of purlin, cold-formed steel profiles, galvanized and black steel, channels, and tubes of different formats, among other assortments, when enough raw materials are guaranteed.

Since its foundation, METUNAS (commercial name), National Vanguard this year, was predicted a great contribution to the development of the country, and four decades after its creation, its experience has enabled it to make its slogan "Only steel and good projects" sustainable.

To fulfill its mission, it has more than 500 workers, including 111 engineers, who are in charge of the design, manufacture, transportation, assembly and technical assistance of steel structures for the construction of industrial, sports and social buildings.
