Majibacoa sugar mill in its 35th anniversary

With the endorsement granted by being among the industries of its type with the greatest productive prestige in Cuba, and immersed in one of the most difficult harvests in recent times, the workers and managers of the Majibacoa sugar mill commemorated today the 35th anniversary of its inauguration on April 22, 1986, by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Víctor Torres González, director of the young factory, brought up passages from that memorable day, such as the words of Raúl when congratulated those who built the most beautiful and complete sugar mill constructed by the Revolution, and the young people and industrial workers who joined it at different stages of the construction process. the legendary fighter said: "(…) I dare to do it because I am sure that you will continue to comply."

Today, it can be affirmed that the Majibacoa sugar agribusiness collective, overcoming obstacles of all kinds, has enforced the trust placed by the Army General. That criterion is confirmed not only by the significant contribution to the national economy of one million 627 thousand 415 tons of sugar produced in the 32 harvests carried out; but also the fact of being among the three most efficient and productive plants in Cuba in recent years.

Currently, and despite how difficult the campaign is, due to the instability in the supply of raw materials, the "Majibacoa" occupies the third national place in sugar production (38 thousand tons), and is self-sufficient in energy. It also obtains satisfactory results in the main indicators of industrial efficiency and the elaboration of refined wax, honey-with-bagasse, multi-nutritional blocks, bagasse packing, ice, wine, and other by-products, such as wax oil, and alcohol formula five, for home use.

Now, its men and women are directing efforts towards May Day, the glorious date of the world proletariat, which they hope to greet with the contribution of 40 thousand tons of sugar.
