Tools and implements for agricultural tasks

The Talleres Agropecuarios business unit (Agricultural Workshops), belonging to the Logistics Business Group of the Ministry of Agriculture, is a great ally of food production in the province of Las Tunas and turns to this activity the talent of its innovators, technicians, and operators.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The peasants and state workers of the sector in the eight municipalities know this well, who have a series of agricultural implements assembled in the entity, very useful for carrying out various tasks related to the food program.

These tools were released from the state reserve and moldboard and traditional pole plows, as well as harrows with three and five organs, with very good performance in various crops among them, according to Francisco García Bruzón, director of the business unit.

The leader said that, as part of the Ordering Task, the entity expanded its benefits to a greater number of farmers and companies since it is a priority to increasing food production in these difficult times due to the U.S. economic siege and the incidence of the COVID-19 disease.

Cages for rabbits raising“We have the possibility to repair the different implements of the producers and leave them in optimal conditions for the agricultural tasks. We also maintain all new technology equipment, such as filters, oil change, and winding of motors from one to 85 kilowatts.

"We are currently seeking agreements with self-employed workers to link their productions, or provide raw materials so that we expand services to farmers, through different forms of production."

To promote food production, the group completed more than 500 cages for quail breeding, an activity that encourages the raising of this bird in the eight municipalities of Las Tunas to obtain eggs, which are in high demand among the population for their excellent nutritional and medicinal values.

The entity carries out other work projects to support poultry development here and increase the productions destined for the population; for this reason, during 2020 they repaired more than a thousand cages for laying hens.

"Last year, we produced the front, the floor, and the doors of the chicken cages, very deteriorated by continuous use, and we manufactured more than a thousand modules. Today, it can be said that more than 80 percent of these implements are in good condition.

"We also make the sawhorse to support the cages and we work on assembling the structures of several laying hen houses, to promote the collection of eggs."

Besides these tasks, for the current calendar, the projections are expanded with the development of cages for raising rabbits, in high demand in Las Tunas for being cheap, fast, and safe productions, with significant contributions for the obtaining of animal protein.
