The first cart for transporting passengers was similar to the current pachangas.

The first cart for transporting passengers that we know of circulated in the then Victoria de Las Tunas in 1903. They say that it had a structure similar to that of the popular pachangas that retrace these lands today, and it was pulled by two donkeys.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Researchers agree that its route went from the Wood Bridge, in the vicinity of the current Fuente de Las Antillas (Antilles Fountain), to the whereabouts of the Railway Station along Lucas Ortiz Street; and they say that the company that assumed the activity belonged to Quintilio Cruz and was based in Holguín.

The annals of mass transportation in this region record that, in the early years of the 20th century, that company also provided a special service to other parts of the city with a cart pulled by four mules and a longer route.

In 1926, the Ómnibus Amarillos Company (Yellow Bus) began to make the same journey at the same price and would put an end to that original initiative.
