The outstanding coach of Las Tunas Arlen Manuel González Núñez announced in recent days his return to the technical group of the National Taekwondo Team, after a four-year period that took him to Nicaragua and Peru.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- “Closing a cycle in our professional life, after four years outside the homeland. We left behind a beautiful experience in our transit through Nicaragua and Peru,” the trainer from Puerto Padre wrote on his Facebook wall.

Since 2017, Arlen González had worked with taekwondo in Nicaraguan and Peruvian lands, achieving important international results and progress in the integral development of this sport. "Great athletes and people made possible a project that gave us a new knowledge and the satisfaction of contributing a grain of sand in the sports training of those who participated in this process," he added.

After his return to Cuba, González has just taken on new responsibilities as coach of the National Team, at the Giraldo Córdova Cardín high-performance athlete training school. "From now on we assume with all responsibility and commitment this new task," he said.

Who was an athlete in the late 80s and early 90s of the last century became later a great taekwondo coach. His sustained work led him to the National Team, with which he participated in top-level events, such as world championships, Pan-American and regional games.

Arlen González has been elected the province's best coach on more than one occasion and his return to the technical team of the Cuban elite squad is good news that gives prestige to Las Tunas sports.
