Eigth baseball players from Las Tunas aspire to compete in international tournaaments.

Six players from the national champions Leñadores de Las Tunas (Lumberjacks) were announced as part of the Cuban preselection for the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile; and three of them, along with Yosvani and Yordanis Alarcón, are part of the Alazanes de Granma (Sorrels) that will participate in the first edition of the Champions League.

With the last light of the sunset, the Lumberjacks, champions of the 62nd National Baseball Series, rolled through a sea of people along the main arteries of the city, where the Las Tunas family celebrated in style.

The member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and first secretary of Las Tunas, Manuel René Pérez Gallego, acknowledged the extraordinary result of the team Los Leñadores (Las Tunas Lumberjacks), champions of the 62nd Cuban National Baseball Series.

For as long as this reporter can remember, people went to the stadium to "have fun" with that basement team, cheering every game as if their lives depended on it.
