In a second day of sessions, this Wednesday, working groups will evaluate in Panama the proposals of various sectors to save the Social Security Fund (CSS) from the crisis.
Panama City.- Although questioned by trade union organizations, the panels will be held at the Presidential Palace. The participants will emphasize medical benefits and the Disability, Old Age, and Death benefit programs.
The debates will be moderated by the Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd, and the new director of the CSS, Dino Mon, who advanced the idea of outsourcing services such as security and inventory control, through an international company, which is seen by the popular movements as the beginning of the privatization of the only public entity that administers the payment of pensions.
Organizations such as the National Confederation of Independent Trade Union Unity (Conusi) are defenders of the solidarity system and warned that they will oppose parametric measures such as raising the retirement age and employer contributions.
This type of meeting, on Mondays and Wednesdays, is held for three hours, this will take more than a month, a methodology that has not been to the liking of the trade unions. (PL)
