Palmares extra-hotel chain retakes its usual activities

While the Popular Camping facilities have already opened the reservations, the rest of the tourist industry in this eastern Cuban province slowly resumes its operations and only for national vacationers in this first phase of post-COVID-19 recovery.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Giarlis Melenilla Romero, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in Las Tunas, reported on Saturday that in addition to the camping sites, only the Las Tunas Hotel resumes operations. Room renters, which have stopped their work until now, can also do it in both currencies. At the Brisas Covarrubias hotel, as well as in the Cadillac, he said, remodeling activities will continue in several of its rooms, as well as preparations for new services.

In all cases, he said, only services will be allowed to Cuban citizens and in compliance with the new health protocol, agreed jointly by the ministries of Tourism and Public Health. "All facilities must be certified and personnel trained in sanitary regulations and access limitation," he insisted.

The foregoing also applies to the rest of the infrastructure of the industry without chimneys attached to the MINTUR, specifically the Caracol stores chain and the Palmares extra-hotel chain, which almost entirely retake the pre-COVID-19 options; although the party rooms of the latter will remain closed in the current first phase. There will also be no activity for Transtur car rental service, Melenilla Romero said.

The delegate of Tourism in Las Tunas specified that the usual sales offices and bureaus for hotel options are open, to which they now add an informative telephone channel through the number 53 31 372717. “Also on our Tunas Travel page we are attentive to opinions and requests for tourist information," he said.
