Crop fields received the major impact of the intense rains 

The affectation of more than 700 hectares planted with different crops constitutes the greatest impact caused by the constant rainfall recorded in Las Tunas, although work is still underway to quantify the damage in the eight municipalities of the province.

Municipal and provincial authorities assessed damages caused by the rains in Jobabo

The constant rains in the northern region of Jobabo, and neighboring municipalities, caused a considerable increase in the flow of the Jobabo River and left various areas of the town cut off. Manuel René Pérez Gallego, president of the Provincial Defense Council (CDP), and Jaime Chiang Vega, governor of Las Tunas, along with local authorities, toured the affected places.

Top political and governmental authorities visited the affected places

The rains of recent days have damaged dozens of homes and more than 200 people have been evacuated due to the danger posed by water in buildings, whose height in some cases exceeds the knees of an adult.

Flooding in the southern municipality of Jobabo

The floods continued in several municipalities of Las Tunas, caused by a trough that has propitiated significant rainfall records in dissimilar points of the Las Tunas geography. Several dozen people were evacuated, activating here the protection protocols established for these situations.

Ramiro Valdés praised the LUDEMA Furniture production management

The Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, a Vice Prime Minister of Cuba, visited the LUDEMA Furniture base business unit (UEB) in the province of Las Tunas and verified the progress in the construction of houses in the territory.
